Monte Rosa : Gressoney - Alagna
This is one of my favourite destinations : a wonderful off piste area in the middle of the high summits of the Monte Rosa range in Italy ; a wild and quiet place. There are a lot of different off piste itineraries for all ski levels. From easy glacier descents to big couloirs and steep slopes, several possibilities are available from ski lift to helicopter skiing in the four valleys of Gressoney, Alagna Valsesia, Champoluc and Zermatt. Helicopter drops : Lys Pass 4300m, Quintino Sella 3600m, Vera 4000m Loche 3800m, Rozetta 3600m A number of beautiful descents are available: the Lys Glacier towards Gressoney or Alagna, the "Lost Valley", the Vera Gacier, the steep slopes and couloirs of Quintino Sella... Many different routes for all ski levels with vertical drops from 1800 m to 3000 m ! Monte Rosa Tour A fantastic day : helicopter drop to the Lys (4300m) or Vera pass (3900m) according to the skiers level, descent to Zermatt through the Grentz or Porta Nera glacier, then ascent to the Klein Matterhorn (3800m) by cable car, descent towards Champoluc through the wonderful Vera glacier, ski lifts to join Bettaforca (2800m) and then the last descent to Gressoney. A long skiing day in a fantastic setting of high mountains and huge glaciers. Héliskiing and off piste pictures |
